Emotional Mountain Weddings in One of the World's Most Beautiful Alpine Landscapes

A Mountain Wedding in the Engadin – Where Nature Becomes the Stage

The Engadin is one of the most renowned and beautiful wedding destinations in the Swiss Alps. The crystal-clear lakes, the wide open landscape between St. Moritz and Maloja, and the charming villages with their traditional Engadin houses create a backdrop that is truly unique in the world. As a wedding photographer in the Engadin – having grown up in Graubünden – I know this mountain world and the spots that give your photos an atmosphere you simply won't find anywhere else.

Graubünden is my home, Romansh my mother tongue, the mountains where I belong – and my inspiration for every single shot. It would be my greatest joy to accompany you on this special day – and to create images you will carry in your hearts forever.

Why the Engadin is One of the Most Impressive Wedding Locations in Graubünden

A Landscape of Extraordinary Openness

The Engadin is one of the highest inhabited valleys in Europe. It stands apart from many other regions in Graubünden through its open, wide landscape. Between Maloja and Zernez, a high plateau of lakes, meadows and mountains stretches out before you.

A Mountain Backdrop for Every Season

The Engadin is a breathtaking setting for mountain weddings all year round: deep blue lakes and intense colours in summer, golden light over the wide high plateaus in autumn, snow-covered peaks and crisp winter air in the colder months. Every season has its own magic.

Unique Wedding Locations for Every Style

The Engadin offers an extraordinary range of settings:

  • St. Moritz – elegant hotels and exclusive resorts
  • Lake Sils & Lake Silvaplana – peaceful, natural, romantic
  • Sils Maria & Pontresina – charming, authentic villages
  • Maloja – wild and untouched
  • Scuol, Tarasp and Sent – traditional houses with sgraffito facades
  • Countless open mountain meadows for outdoor ceremonies or intimate elopements

How I Photograph Your Wedding in the Engadin

Documentary “Candid” Style

I observe, I capture, I stay in the background. No forced poses, no awkward smiles. Tears during the ceremony, a loving smile, the gentle holding of hands – those are the images you’ll still hold close to your heart twenty years from now. During the couple shoot I give you tips and small preparation tricks so you feel relaxed and completely at ease – a feeling that will shine through in every image.

Preparation is Everything

I always visit special locations in advance and find the best spots for the first look and couple shoot according to the season and weather conditions. That way everything runs smoothly and stress-free on your wedding day – you don’t have to worry about a thing.

My Signature Style

Warm colours and natural light – that’s my style. Every photo is individually edited with my signature look. No heavy filters, no artificial effects. Timeless, clear and authentic.

Weddings in Graubünden – One Region, Many Stories

The Engadin is one of many extraordinary regions where I photograph weddings. Each one has its own character – from the Surselva with its historic villages to Lenzerheide with its romantic Lake Heidsee. Take a look at some of my wedding reports from Graubünden and let yourself be inspired.

Frequently Asked Questions about Weddings in the Engadin

The Engadin is beautiful throughout the year. Summer and autumn (July to October) are particularly popular, when the lakes shimmer deep blue and the light is golden. Winter weddings in the snow have their own special magic – the Engadin is after all one of the world’s most famous winter destinations. Spring offers awakening nature and a peaceful stillness that is hard to find in high season.

Weather uncertainty is part of mountain life – but it’s no reason to panic. As an experienced wedding photographer in Graubünden, I know the typical weather patterns of the region and always plan a backup. Mist, clouds or even rain can give photos a dramatic and unique atmosphere all of their own. I make sure we get beautiful images whatever the conditions.

Lake Sils and Lake Silvaplana are among my absolute favourites – peaceful, romantic and with a breathtaking mountain backdrop. But the village centres of Sils Maria or Pontresina, the forests around St. Moritz, or the wide meadows above Scuol also offer wonderful settings. Depending on the season and time of day, we’ll find the perfect spot together.

The Engadin lies outside the Graubünden core area, so I’d ask you to get in touch directly – I’m happy to create a personalised quote including travel costs.

Absolutely. An engagement shoot at Lake Sils or in the Engadin mountains is a wonderful way to explore the location together in advance – and to get relaxed, natural couple portraits at the same time.
