Elopement Photographer in the Swiss Alps
For couples who choose what matters most.
An elopement isn't a small wedding — it's a deliberate choice. You choose what matters: each other, nature, stillness. No schedule, no stress, no hundred expectations. Just this one day, entirely yours.
I'm Cornelia, an elopement and wedding photographer based in Graubünden — Switzerland's largest and wildest alpine canton. I grew up here and know this mountain world inside out: the light, the seasons, the hidden places no travel guide will ever show you. I don't just come with a camera. I come as your guide — from the very first idea to the last image of your day.

Why elope in the Swiss Alps?
The Swiss Alps offer one of the most breathtaking natural backdrops in the world for an intimate elopement: untouched mountain landscapes, secluded alpine lakes, snow-covered peaks, ancient villages and valleys where time seems to stand still.
My home is Graubünden — Switzerland’s largest alpine canton, with a mountain world that leaves even seasoned travellers speechless. As a local, I know places that can only be reached on foot, the special light at every time of year, and paths far from the tourist crowds. These places are what make your photos truly unique.
In our first conversation, I’ll tell you about the possibilities — and together we’ll find the place in the Swiss mountains that feels right for you.
My role — more than just a photographer
My role —
more than just a photographer
An elopement in the Alps needs more than a camera. I’m your local expert and I take care of everything so you can simply enjoy the day:
- Location advice: I help you find the perfect spot — matched to the season, the light, accessibility and your vision.
- Logistics: I know the trails, the cable cars, the opening times and the particularities of alpine life — so everything runs smoothly on your day.
- Permits: Some areas require photography permits. I know exactly where and how to apply, and I handle it all for you.
- Language: I speak German, English, Spanish and Romansh — the language of the locals here in Graubünden — so international couples planning from afar are in safe hands.
Day planning: Together we’ll create a relaxed plan that leaves plenty of room for spontaneous moments — and for each other.
We found Cornelia online and immediately felt that she was the right person for us. She responded quickly, speaks excellent English, and as a local she knows the area very well and has great contacts. She helped us organize a beautiful and intimate elopement in the mountains, and the photos capture our day in such an authentic and emotional way.
We are so grateful—thank you for everything, Cornelia!
How does an elopement with me work?
Getting to know each other
We start with a video call. You tell me about your vision, I tell you about myself, my way of working and the possibilities in the Swiss Alps. No pressure — just an honest conversation to find out if we're the right fit for each other.
Planning
Once we've chosen each other, we plan everything together: location, date, timing, flow of the day. I'll send you all the information you need about getting there, what to bring, and everything else you need to know.
The day
I'll be with you as your photographer and guide. I'll lead you through the day without it ever feeling like a photoshoot. You simply get to be yourselves, somewhere extraordinary in the Swiss Alps.
The photos
2 to 3 days after the wedding, you'll receive a sneak peek with the highlights of your day. The complete high-resolution gallery will follow within 4 weeks as a password-protected online gallery, which you can also share with your guests.

Frequently asked questions about elopements in the Swiss Alps
That depends on the location. In certain protected areas, a photography permit is required — I handle all of that for you and clarify every detail in advance. At most other locations, no special permits are needed.
Not at all — that’s perfectly normal for international couples. Many of my couples see the Swiss Alps for the very first time on their elopement day. That’s exactly why I’m here: so you can focus entirely on the moment while I take care of everything else.
Honestly? Bad weather is often my favourite. Mist over the peaks, rain on the lake, dramatic clouds above the alps — these are moods that no sunny day can replicate. We’ll always work out a Plan B with alternative locations or timings, so you can go into the day completely relaxed.
Yes — and a winter elopement in the Swiss Alps is truly unforgettable. The white silence, the crisp winter light, the stillness of the mountain world. Winter elopements are one of my absolute favourite niches.
Of course. Some couples already have a clear vision of the location and flow — in that case I’m primarily there as photographer. Others want full guidance from start to finish. We shape the scope together, entirely based on your needs.
For elopements I recommend a lead time of at least 3–4 months — especially when location planning, permits or travel from further away are part of the process. Popular seasons like summer and winter fill up early.
