Wedding in Chur, Graubünden
An intimate wedding celebration with views over Chur’s Old Town
When A&R reached out asking me to photograph their wedding, I was a little surprised — the date was just two weeks away! Fortunately, that Saturday was still free in my calendar, and I said yes with great pleasure. Alongside the wedding photos, they also booked a wedding video, which my partner Jose filmed and I later edited.
It was a celebration of a very special kind: just the closest family, a small outdoor ceremony led by the bride’s sister, and a shared dinner at Restaurant Kleinwaldegg. Small, but absolutely wonderful! Jose and I felt warmly welcomed from the very first moment.
Couple’s shoot above Restaurant Kleinwaldegg
Before the family arrived, we headed into the forest above the restaurant for the couple’s photos and video. It had been lightly raining all day, but by the time of the shoot the sun had come out and the leaves were glistening beautifully in the light. The video footage was particularly magical — the backlight created a stunning lens flare effect that gave the forest a very special glow. Apart from the poor groom nearly being eaten alive by mosquitoes, the shoot was wonderfully relaxed and we had plenty of laughs.
Outdoor ceremony and apéro at Restaurant Kleinwaldegg
The guests were already waiting on the terrace when we returned from the shoot. They applauded and warmly welcomed the beaming couple. For the ceremony, the pavilion in the garden had been decorated with flowers and white drapes. The three flower girls skipped ahead giggling, followed by the couple. The eldest of the four sisters gave a speech before the couple exchanged rings. Afterwards, the whole family danced to traditional Kosovo-Albanian songs.
To finish, we sent the drone up into the sky — and everyone waved goodbye. A beautiful ending to a truly special evening.
