Destination Wedding Photographer in the Swiss Alps

The Swiss mountains as the backdrop for your most beautiful day.

A destination wedding is more than a wedding in a beautiful place — it's a journey you share with the people who mean the most to you. The Swiss Alps offer one of the most magnificent stages in the world: majestic mountain landscapes, historic villages, luxury venues and an atmosphere your guests will never forget.

I'm Cornelia, a wedding photographer based in Graubünden — Switzerland's largest and wildest alpine canton. As a local, I know the most beautiful locations, the special light at every time of year and the local wedding industry inside out. I'm not just your photographer — I'm your local expert, bringing the knowledge, the connections and the experience that a wedding in the Swiss Alps calls for.

Why a destination wedding in the Swiss Alps?

Switzerland is one of the world’s most sought-after wedding destinations — and for good reason. Nowhere else will you find this unique combination of breathtaking natural scenery, world-class infrastructure and an atmosphere that is simultaneously wild and elegant.

Graubünden is the heart of the Swiss Alps: the largest canton, the greatest diversity. From romantic mountain villages to historic castles and luxury resorts — every couple finds their perfect place here.

What I bring to your day

Planning a destination wedding in Switzerland from abroad is a big undertaking — especially from far away. As a local photographer, I’m your direct connection to the Swiss wedding world:

  • Local expertise: I know the wedding venues in Graubünden and the Swiss Alps from first-hand experience — venues, the special light at every time of year and the small details that make all the difference.
  • Local connections: I know great local vendors and can give you valuable recommendations for building your wedding team. I also work with experienced wedding planners from the region and am happy to connect you with the right person.
  • On the wedding day: As an experienced wedding photographer, I know the flow of a wedding day and make sure every important moment is captured — from the intimate preparations and the First Look through the ceremony to the cutting of the cake and the first dance.
  • Language: I speak German, English, Spanish and Romansh — the language of the locals here in Graubünden — and I’m your direct connection to the local wedding world.
  • Planning from afar: Many of my couples plan their wedding from abroad. Through video calls and clear communication, I make sure you always know exactly what to expect from me.

How does a destination wedding with me work?

Getting to know each other

We start with a video call. You tell me about your vision, I tell you about myself, my way of working and the possibilities in the Swiss Alps. No pressure — just an honest conversation to find out if we're the right fit for each other.

Planning and preparation

After booking, we stay in close contact. I visit the venue in advance to scout the best spots for the couple shoot. Shortly before the wedding, we go through the timeline and all the details together one more time — so that on the big day, everything falls perfectly into place.

The wedding day

From the intimate moments of getting ready to the dance floor late into the evening — I'll be with you all day. I stay in the background to give you and your guests space, capturing spontaneous and natural emotions as they unfold.

The photos

2 to 3 days after the wedding, you'll receive a sneak peek with the highlights of your day. The complete high-resolution gallery will follow within 4 weeks as a password-protected online gallery, which you can also share with your guests.

Frequently asked questions about destination weddings in Switzerland

Completely smoothly. All planning happens via video call and email. I know the process well and understand exactly what information you need and when. Many of my couples visited Switzerland for the very first time on their wedding day — that’s not a problem, it’s perfectly normal.

Yes, absolutely. As a local, I know the wedding venues in Graubünden and the Swiss Alps from personal experience. I can give you recommendations that match your style, guest count and budget — and connect you with the right contacts.

Yes. I’m well connected in the local wedding industry and love working as part of a team. I already work with experienced wedding planners from the region and am happy to connect you with the right person. If you’re still looking for other vendors — videographers, florists or others — I’m happy to recommend trusted contacts.

Alpine weather in Switzerland can be unpredictable — and I love it. Mist, rain, dramatic clouds — these create some of the most unforgettable images. We’ll always have a Plan B, so you can go into your day completely relaxed.

For destination weddings I recommend booking at least 12 months in advance — especially for summer Saturdays, which fill up very early. The earlier you book, the more time we have for relaxed, detailed planning together.

Yes, absolutely. For weddings in the core area of Graubünden, travel and expenses are already included in my packages. For weddings in other parts of Switzerland or abroad, I’m happy to create a personalised quote including travel costs.
