Wedding in Val Lumnezia, Graubünden
A summer wedding report in the heart of Val Lumnezia
The Wedding Venue in Val Lumnezia
For their summer wedding, J&M chose two beautiful wedding venues in Graubünden — both of which I had the pleasure of photographing for the very first time. The church ceremony took place at the Parish Church of Sogn Martin in Ilanz. Afterwards, guests gathered for the apéro at Davos Munts, and the celebration continued at the mountain restaurant Triel in Vella, 1,600 meters above sea level, where everyone danced and celebrated into the early hours of the morning.
It was a wedding day filled with love, goosebump moments, and wonderful surprises — all set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop.
First Look and Couple’s Shoot in Ilanz
The groom waited in the courtyard of the Parish Church of Sogn Martin for his great love. She arrived with her maid of honor, wearing a long white dress — nervous, excited, and glowing from ear to ear. She walked toward him, and they embraced tightly.
Ah, the first look — always such a special moment, one that is almost impossible to put into words.
Church Ceremony at the Parish Church of Sogn Martin, Ilanz
The light streaming through the church windows bathed the wooden interior in a warm, soft glow. The atmosphere was simply beautiful.
The bride walked down the aisle with her father — always such an emotional moment. Throughout the ceremony, J&M could hardly take their loving eyes off each other. You could truly feel their connection — and simply share in their joy.
Apéro at Restaurant Camping Davos Munts
After the ceremony, the couple drove in a vintage car to Davos Munts in Val Lumnezia. As they stepped out and walked toward the lake, music suddenly started playing — and the groom almost jumped into the air with joy.
On the meadow by the lake stood his favorite local band, playing the songs the two of them had danced to at so many celebrations before. A perfect surprise.
The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful. The music, delicious local specialties such as Capuns, the warm summer sun, and the lake with its mountain panorama — everything came together beautifully.
Before the wedding guests took the post bus up to the mountain restaurant Triel, we used the opportunity to capture a few more couple portraits by the lake.
Wedding Celebration at Mountain Restaurant Triel, Vella
The wedding reception took place at Mountain Restaurant Triel at 1,600 meters above sea level. It was a cheerful evening filled with heartfelt and creative presentations from friends and family. Time flew by — suddenly it was already time for the cake and the first dance.
After more than 12 hours of documenting this wedding in Graubünden, my workday came to an end. Tired but happy, and filled with beautiful impressions, I made my way home.
Thank you, J&M, for your trust — it was truly wonderful being part of your day.
Wishing you all the love and happiness for your shared adventure ahead. It will be amazing.
Would you like me to capture your wedding as well?
